The Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value (MERV) describes a filter’s ability to capture particles under a standard test; higher values indicate greater filtration efficiency. The reference models here include MERV 10–15 filters and whole-house HEPA filtration. The right filter must also suit the HVAC system’s airflow capacity—ask a qualified professional before changing filter type or resistance.

Whole-home air purifiers are installed as part of a home's heating and cooling system, treating air that circulates through the equipment rather than operating as a standalone room unit. Filtration can capture particles, but it should not be understood as a guarantee against illness or a substitute for medical guidance.
